About the role As the Director, Quality and Standards, you will be responsible for:
Leading and managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Office's audit methodologies. Developing, implementing, and advising on a framework of Office audit quality standards, policies, and procedures that meet the requirements of standards issued by the AUASB. Overseeing and providing expert accounting and auditing advice, support, and delivery of technical training. Leading and overseeing a program of supporting quality assurance processes and conducting quality assurance reviews. Managing and leading a team of professionals. Contributing to the achievement of the corporate objectives of the Office. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
Extensive audit and accounting knowledge and experience, including interpreting accounting and auditing standards, legislation, government standards, frameworks, and policies. Expert knowledge of audit methodology and modern auditing techniques. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including building and managing networks and producing comprehensive reports on complex matters in a clear and succinct manner. A significant level of independent judgment to resolve complex problems, working under very broad direction and exercising creative and strategic thinking. Membership of a professional accounting body, as recognised by the Auditor-General. Specific requirements Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency at the time of applying.
