About the role
Reporting to the Global Director of Corporate Affairs, this pivotal role leads our Public Affairs team globally in shaping Government & Industry Relations and public policy initiatives. You will oversee a team of 3 Public Affairs experts based across America, Australia, and the UK. Key responsibilities include:
Leading, developing and executing a comprehensive global public affairs strategy that aligns with TWE's vision, purpose and global business objectives, with a particular focus on Canberra, South Australia and Victoria.
Providing strategic counsel on policies & regulations affecting TWE, including Tax, Sustainability, Consumer Health and Global Trade.
Proactively anticipating, monitoring and devising strategies to mitigate global regulatory opportunities and mitigate risks emerging from political, regulatory, and societal trends.
Representing and working with TWE's key industry associations across Australia to progress the interests of TWE and the Australian Wine industry.
Developing and supporting government submissions, driving opportunities to foster direct engagement and influence with government.
About you
You will be a strategic people leader with demonstrated experience rolling out programs and initiatives to address critical Public Affairs issues, ensuring alignment with both internal priorities and external expectations. Exposure to working in highly regulated environments will help mitigate risks and influence policy to support sustainable business growth. You will have:
A background in creating and delivering Public Affairs strategies within regulated industries/environments.
Minimum 10 years' experience in a Ministerial or Departmental Office.
A strong network of relationships across Australian Federal Government departments and Ministerial and Opposition Offices.
Experience in Government submissions and grants, fostering opportunities for direct engagement and influence with government bodies.
Strong communication and relationship building skills across a broad range of stakeholders (Executive Leadership Team members, government and industry bodies).
Demonstrated leadership experience within a corporate environment.
