About the role
The Director, People Operations provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the People Operations function, which includes P&C Business Partnering, Workplace Relations, and People Experience (comprising People & Culture support services, People Systems, and Talent Acquisition). This is a key leadership position responsible for the provision of high-quality people solutions and strategic advice through a tiered service delivery model. With People & Culture being a critical contributor to the performance of the organisation, this position requires strong engagement with senior & executive leaders, employees, and union representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, mentor, and support a multi-disciplinary team of people and culture specialists and advisors to partner with WorkSafe's leaders and employees, providing high-quality, client-focused, people solutions and best practice advice, coaching, and support.
Lead the delivery of integrated and contemporary people solutions for WorkSafe's workforce, which leverage from P&C's centres of expertise, including learning and organisational development and health, safety, and wellbeing.
Maintain oversight and continuous improvement of the tiered people and culture service delivery model to the business, enabled through people systems, people insights and analytics, high-quality people experience service desk support, and triaging of centralised expert advice.
Lead WorkSafe's workplace relations strategy, including the successful negotiation and implementation of WorkSafe's Enterprise Agreement, partnering, and working in collaboration with relevant unions, business representatives, and key internal stakeholders.
Oversee the delivery of talent acquisition and talent management strategies that meet the needs of the organisation, in accordance with WorkSafe's approach to diversity, equity and inclusion and organisational development.
About you
You are an experienced People & Culture leader who wants to make a difference. You have exceptional critical thinking and forward planning skills, and you can synthesise complex people matters and lead outcomes in a busy operating environment. You will have a contemporary understanding of People & Culture solutions and strategies and know how to navigate the industrial environment to deliver these. With strong engagement and communication skills, you drive results and influence through establishing and maintaining positive relationships.
You will also possess:
Extensive experience developing and implementing contemporary People and Culture solutions, strategies, and services to achieve WorkSafe's goals and objectives.
Depth of experience in collaborating and building productive relationships with unions to achieve successful outcomes.
A demonstrated ability to exercise judgement, influence others, be flexible and adaptive to a changing environment.
Advanced communication skills including written, oral, and presentation to conceptualise, recommend, and implement sound People and Culture practices to support strategic intent at an Executive and Board level.
Qualifications
A degree in Human Resources management or equivalent and significant experience in the field.
