Details of the offer

Management - Schools (Education & Training) St Catherine's is a vibrant, close-knit community where students, teachers, and parents share in the journey of learning. We have magnificent teachers who are great activators of change for girls and who enhance their students' learning through the provision of a stimulating, tailored and future-focused education.
Established in 1896, St Catherine's School's reputation as a leader in girls' education is based on our readiness to embrace innovation. Our goals are in keeping with our founders' original aim to prepare students for life; not only through education but also empowering girls to take ownership of their learning through active participation and engagement in School academic and co-curricular programs.
Our School's proud reputation for academic excellence, exceptional teachers, a supportive community, outstanding co-curricular programs, and well-equipped facilities has placed St Catherine's School as one of the top performing schools across Victoria for years. However, our greatest achievement is the quality of character our students exhibit.
St Catherine's is committed to building and retaining a strong workforce of dedicated teachers and professional staff who can create an environment of best practice. Our aim is to be a truly inclusive and caring school where both students and staff are supported and encouraged to flourish.
About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for a committed and dynamic leader to join our School community in January 2025. The successful candidate will be a strong leader and facilitator, who will also play a role in imagining the future of St Catherine's School.
The Director of Teaching and Learning at St Catherine's School is a key member of the Senior Leadership team, reporting directly to the Principal. This role is responsible for overseeing and leading the school's teaching and learning strategies, ensuring that high standards are met across all areas.
Working closely with Heads of Faculties, the Director supports the development and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring alignment and continuity across the school. Additionally, the Director is expected to engage with external educational networks to stay informed about the latest trends and best practices, bringing new ideas and innovations to the school's teaching and learning approach.
The Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of our educational philosophy, providing high-quality leadership in pedagogy and actively promoting the continuous growth and achievement of the school.
To be successful in this opportunity you will require: Current VIT Registration. Postgraduate level qualifications (or currently studying) in Education and/or Education Management (preferred). Experience in working as part of an educational senior leadership team (preferred). Demonstrated experience in the development and management of curriculum. Demonstrated experience and skill in the leadership and management of teams of staff in achieving curriculum outcomes. Demonstrated innovative practice, lateral thinking, use of initiative, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the School. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills and exceptional capacity to relate to other professionals and work in a variety of team settings. An interest in current wider curriculum issues and research. Working knowledge of relevant curriculum frameworks. Why work for us? Fantastic opportunity to work in a highly regarded independent school in Toorak. Integrated professional learning teams with learning coaches. Collaborative and supportive team environment. Access to professional development. Onsite parking available and close to public transport. Onsite cafe and use of gym and swimming pool facilities. Applications will close Wednesday 25 September 2024. Early applications are encouraged, as interviews may commence prior to this date. St Catherine's School is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children by providing a child safe environment. Our students feel safe and empowered as we support and respect all members of the St Catherine's community. This includes the safety and wellbeing of our students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds along with students with disabilities.
Applicants will be subject to the relevant child protection screening, including referee and identity checks, and are expected to familiarise themselves with the School's Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy, Child Safety Code of Conduct, and associated policies available on the School's website.
