Position Summary
The Director of Sales & Marketing holds a key leadership position in overseeing and managing all aspects of the Sales & Marketing Division. As a member of the Guidance Team (Executive Committee), the individual is to contribute a high level of domestic and international market knowledge and expertise for the property. They will establishes and drive strategic decision in the overall hotel marketing plan in alignment with the property and brand strategies, achieving the desired business performance.
The Role
Provide inspirational leadership with a clear vision and direction to team members to ensure delivery of the Capella brand values and vision, to create an amazing experience for all guests and colleagues.
Ensures Marketing activities are aligned with the Corporate Marketing Strategy and Hotel Actions have been implemented where appropriate.
Strategically analyses business performance to facilitate accurate and meaningful forecasting, involving the respective Heads of Department.
Monitor all sales channel performance against goals and make adjustments as required
Solicit group, individual and other business directly and jointly with others through the execution of action plans.
Proactively manage all the marketing resources and funds, and control departmental costs.
To co-ordinate the maintenance and renewal of contracts with overseas tour operations and Australian inbound tour operators.
Empower team members to take ownership and responsibility in going beyond to exceed guest expectations. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
Develops and recommends pricing strategy for the organisation which will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.
Actively participate in trade shows, conventions, expos and promotional events to showcase Capella Sydney's offerings and expansion of professional network.
Talent Profile
Diploma / Degree in Hospitality Business Management or equivalent is preferred
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Sales and Marketing or Revenue Management
Must haveminimum 5 years' experience in similar role in luxury hotel/resort
Strong financial acumen and reporting skills.
Competent computing skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, CRM etc)
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
Ability to travel Domestically and Internationally, where required
Valid working rights in Australia
