Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing A key aspect of this role is leading our Hospital's short notice assessment cycle, ensuring our hospital consistently meets and exceeds accreditation standards. Your strategic leadership and thorough understanding of the NSQHS standards and assessment process will be vital in maintaining our high standards of care.
As the Director Safety & Quality overseeing the management and coordination of Patient Safety and Quality at Auburn Hospital your responsibilities will also include:
Managing patient safety, patient and consumer satisfaction, and experience portfolios Leading quality improvement and accreditation efforts Handling risk management and policy development/implementation Providing high-level advice and support to the General Director and Senior Executives Advising Clinical Council on compliance with governance, quality, and safety standards If you are a proactive leader with a passion for continuous improvement and regulatory excellence, this is your opportunity to make a substantial impact.

Selection Criteria: Relevant tertiary clinical and health management qualification or substantial work experience exhibiting a proven and successful track record in quality, safety, accreditation, consumer engagement and risk management. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply the principles of patient safety and human factors, risk management and process improvement in a quality and safety framework within a clinical setting. Significant experience with Executive level interpersonal, communication, presentation, written and verbal skills. Knowledge of integrated risk management principles and experience in the concepts and processes of clinical risk management and quality improvement processes and patient safety frameworks Broad understanding and experience in the national Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards related to accreditation processes, the Health care Complaints Commission HCCC) system requirements and the Incident Management System (IMS+) Demonstrated, knowledge and experience in management of complex human resource and administrative matters. Demonstrated high level leadership skills in problem solving/negotiation and change management. Demonstrated experience in budgetary and financial management within allocated resources.
