About the role Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking a professional highly motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to provide high level leadership and management of health care staff. The Director of Nursing (DON), Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Services is the operational manager for the Adult Inpatient Mental Health units and the Professional lead for nursing across both specialist clinical streams. The DON is responsible for ensuring the development of a competent, capable, and sustainable nursing workforce that delivers high standards of clinical nursing practice which promotes patient outcomes valued by patients and families.
