About the Role This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 5 years. As the principal nursing and midwifery officer of Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group (FSFHG), you will be the accountable executive lead for the nursing and midwifery professions to deliver fully on the strategic objectives and service operational priorities of FSFHG. You will provide FSFHG Executive with all professional, leadership and senior management oversight to nursing, midwifery, and volunteer services. You will also develop, foster, and support a nursing and midwifery culture aligned to SMHS values that promotes and supports clinical excellence through education, ongoing clinical quality improvement and professional development for the nursing and midwifery profession.
Area Profile SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth. Our vision is Excellent health care, every time.
SMHS oversees several key health facilities. Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital providing diverse services, including state rehabilitation, cancer care, mental health, maternity, and neonatal services, alongside specialized treatments like heart and lung transplants. Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed facility focused on aged care, mental health, rehabilitation, and planned surgeries and medical services. Fiona Stanley Hospital Cockburn Mental Health facility is a modern 75-bed voluntary inpatient centre, specializing in women's mental health, eating disorders, and alcohol and drug detoxification.
