The Agency: This agency plays a pivotal role in supporting Australia's efforts to combat serious financial crimes.
It provides critical intelligence to safeguard national interests and collaborates with multiple international and domestic stakeholders.
The media team is essential in promoting the agency's work and ensuring effective communication with the public, government bodies, and international partners.
The Role: As the Director of Media, you will lead a high-performing team to develop and execute strategic media and communication plans that promote the agency's objectives.
You will provide proactive media advice to senior executives, manage complex media issues, and ensure the delivery of clear, consistent messaging.
This role involves developing tailored communication strategies for both internal and external audiences, supporting change management initiatives, and managing media events.
Role Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of media strategies across multiple channels.
Provide high-level media advice to the CEO, Executive, and government ministers.
Manage media events, launches, and campaigns to support organisational priorities.
Oversee media responses, stakeholder relationships, and team performance.
Drive innovative communication solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
This opportunity may be offered in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane.
This is a 12-month opportunity with the intent of becoming permanent within 12 months.
A permanent transfer may be offered for those currently permanent in the APS.
Your Skills and Experience: To be considered for this position you must have existing corporate media management experience, with the strong ability to manage high-profile media strategies and events.
At least 5-10 years of experience in a media, communications, or public relations role, with recent experience in a high-level media environment.
Proven leadership and management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, ideally for at least 3-5 years.
Strong understanding of the media and political environment within government, with the ability to navigate complex media issues.
Government experience is not essential for this position; however, it is highly desirable.

A security clearance up to the NV2 level may be required, and as such, you must be willing to undertake the process to obtain this, if not already held.
