Nepean Community & Neighbourhood ServicesDirector of Finance: PART TIME position | 1-3 days a week | Pay grade – SCHADs 8.1Following a recent restructure at our organisation, this role is an exciting opportunity to be involved in creating a better working environment for a team of more than 30 people working in a variety of community-focused programs funded by government grants. Our organisation has been working in the community for decades and like most Neighbourhood Centres, we are the starting point for many different types of community assistance. We also have a strong Aboriginal presence with a significant proportion of our staff being first nations persons.We are looking for a new person to handle our organisational culture needs, who has the following experience:Overseeing financial reporting for an organisation with a similar amount of income, and at least 20 staffImproving efficiency within an organisation, for instance, by removing spending on items that are no longer used, or assisting with choices between competing projectsEnsuring that the organisation is complying with the requirements of the funding bodiesGrant Management including ensuring efficient use of resources, and coordinating with a HR department on who to assign to which grantExperience in a role where your direct report was the Board, or you sat on the BoardRequires a Bachelor of Commerce, and current or previous membership to an organisation like CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & New ZealandExperience working, as a paid employee or volunteer, in a social enterpriseTo achieve a position at the top of the pay scale, applicants should address the following applicable qualifications in their cover letter:Previous work in a Chief Financial Officer roleCurrently or previously held a tax agent numberPrevious work in an environment that is dependent upon government grantsPreviously held a position on a Board for an organization of a similar sizeExperience with supporting Aboriginal cultural requirements within an organizationThe role is an on-site role across a number of different Neighbourhood Centres and so the successful applicant will need a driver's license and motor vehicle, though we are willing to be flexible in relation to when the hours are worked.
