This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the strategic financial direction of the hospital by providing timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to the executive team. You will be responsible for establishing and monitoring hospital-wide financial performance systems, developing financial models, and ensuring compliance with policies set by the Ministry of Health and SWSLHD.
The role also involves monitoring key performance indicators, initiating corrective actions where needed, and ensuring sound financial governance. You will work closely with hospital executives, internal departments, and external stakeholders, providing financial leadership, education, and support.
This position is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact on hospital operations and contribute to the improvement of healthcare services.

What you'll be doing
Contribute to the strategic direction of the Hospital from a financial and business perspective. To provide accurate, timely and meaningful financial information and analysis for the Hospital Executive in consultation with the Local Health District Finance Department. To ensure compliance with Finance and Revenue Policies & Procedures established by the Ministry of Health and SWSLHD.

Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience and current membership of a professional accounting body with a commitment to ongoing professional development. Demonstrated experience in financial management of a large organisation operating in a complex 24-hour environment. Demonstrated skill in interpreting policy, monitoring, formulating and evaluating policies, procedures and standards. Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines, organise and prioritise high volume workloads. High level leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience in delivering Quality Improvement and efficiency improvement projects. Demonstrated experience in the use of computer software, particularly MS Excel and other Microsoft Office software, and financial database and reporting systems. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
