In this role, we are seeking passionate, operational driven and professional, who can overlook all tasks and objectives for engineering conditions to maintain The Property as the market-leader it is destined to be.About the RoleAs Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer, you will lead all tasks and objectives for engineering operations, including for exterior and interior facilities including electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, structural, landscaping, carparks and other maintenance necessary to maintain The Property and Hotel Operations in an optimum and efficient manner. In an operating environment, the Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer will oversee the daily operations of the engineering team and communicate and manage the daily workload, perform checks on work performed and support the skill development of the Engineering Team. The Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer will also manage and control the Maintenance Request System and regularly complete analysis on the System in regards to frequent guest or Property issues, timeliness of Requests/Jobs and suggest and implement any improvements based on analysis. Working closely with all Operational Departments, the Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer provides leadership and direction of the risk management and WHSE function to ensure the safety of The Property, guests and colleagues.About YouTo be successful in the role you will have at least three years' experience in the same position at a luxury hotel and proven experience supervising engineering teams in a complex environment. Other key attributes we are looking for include:3+ years' experience as a Maintenance Manager or Chief Engineer5-star hospitality experienceExtensive experience with rostering, people management and financial planningExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsBMS Knowledge & Legislation knowledgeBe able to problem solve effectively, logically and resourcefully.Working knowledge of building compliance, risk management, and a passion for environmental sustainabilityTrade Qualification preferred.Excellent remuneration package offered to the successful candidate, as well as future career progression with The Langham Hotels & Resorts exciting growing global portfolio.
