About the Role: Mental Health, Justice Health and Alcohol and Drug Services (MHJHADS) provides support to youth and adults via inpatient and outpatient settings, community health centres, justice health facilities and other community settings, including people's homes. MHJHADS aims to be socially inclusive and operate within a recovery-focused and/or harm minimisation approach.
Adult Acute Mental Health Services (AAMHS) provides voluntary and involuntary psychiatric care and treatment for people with a mental illness who require hospitalisation.
This position is a territory-wide role and will have responsibilities across Canberra Health Services.
The successful applicant will have specialist experience in General Psychiatry or Subspecialty areas of Psychiatry, and skills relevant to both inpatient and community services, including the provision of ECT services.
Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to: Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation AgencyMeet credentialing requirements and receive an Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC)Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.Note: This position is part-time at (20) hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata.
