About the role The Director of Education and Care Service (ECS), a newly created position for 2025, will be a passionate, kind, and thoughtful leader and educator, dedicated to the care and education of young people.
The Director will be responsible for all aspects of the Glennie Community Kindergarten and Glennie OSHC - Pitstop and Kindy Care, including the development and implementation of curriculum based on the Early Years Learning Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and National Quality Standards, and ensuring the Centre complies with all governing policies and procedures at all times.
With a focus on the wellbeing of staff and on the day-to-day management, the Director will oversee the care and safety of children across all age groups so that they will thrive as independent young people who are respectful and responsible.
The Glennie Education and Care Service comprises a 44 place, two room co-educational Community Kindergarten with after hours Kindy Care, and a 40 place OSHC for P-6 students.
Our ECS is a close-knit community, providing quality care to the extended Glennie community.
Details Permanent, full-time, 38 hours per week based on the operational requirements of the service, and the roster.

Duties include but are not limited to: reporting to the Head of Junior Years, overseeing the daily operation of the Service, including staffing, budget management, and communication with parents and stakeholders; leading and supporting the professional development of Educators and Teachers, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management; planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child; ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all stakeholders at the Service at all times, following all policies and procedures; and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, legislation, and School policies and procedures.

Demonstrate and practice effective written, verbal and non-verbal communication.
Excellent personal organisation, planning and time management skills including the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.

Essential Criteria Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent education/training and relevant experience.
A minimum of three â five years' related experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and National Quality Standard and Regulations.
Knowledge of assessment and rating processes, as it relates to childcare.
Sound knowledge of business practices, including the ability to implement and manage budgets and adhere to timelines.
Ability to lead, train and mentor a team of qualified and committed early childhood professionals.
Maintain a degree of flexibility in working hours from time to time as required for the position.
General knowledge of nutrition, Staying Healthy in Childcare (latest edition) and First Aid.
Desirable Criteria Experience in Xplor (or other Child Care software programs).
Knowledge or experience with the Walker Learning Approach.
Mandatory Clearances/Certifications Blue card, in accordance with 'No Card, No Start law', as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.
