We are looking for an individual experienced with planning, designing and delivering digital services within a union environment with a specialisation in membership platforms. As the Director of Digital Services, the role will be responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and execution of initiatives related to all membership related digital assets within the union, as well as providing and overseeing digital campaigning support.This is a hands-on role that incorporates some software development/engineering work in addition to maintaining digital assets related to marketing, events, social media, campaigns and organising. Technical skills include the planning and integration of 3 rd party systems via APIs into a union membership system, database management, maintenance and improvements to the membership system, membership website and related online forms and the development of dashboards and reports using Power BI.The role will also encompass some technical and planning components for the transformation of MEAA's membership system to a new platform in conjunction with other internal team members and our 3 rd party delivery partner. The role will be pivotal in aligning technology with union goals, improving membership engagement, and optimising operational efficiency.This role would suit an experienced digital campaigns organiser with advanced technical skills who is personally highly organised, has developed strong leadership capacity and creates strong support for developing a national union across all sections of the organisation.Key Duties Include:Membership Platform Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to define a comprehensive membership transformation strategy that aligns with union objectives, enhances member and supporter experiences, and drives growth.Digital Services Technology Roadmap: Create a technology roadmap that outlines the membership platform and other digital assets transformation journey, encompassing integration and implementation plans.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of digital assets and membership solutions across departments.Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes. Provide training and support to ensure employees are proficient in utilising new digital assets.Data Management and Analytics: Implement data-driven strategies to enhance customer insights, personalisation, and decision-making. Leverage membership data for predictive analytics and intelligence.Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the digital services budget. Allocate resources efficiently to achieve project milestones and objectives.Continuous Improvement: Monitor digital systems performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Stay current with technological advancements and industry trends related to digital systems.Digital Campaigning: Co-develop and implement digital campaign strategies and utilise digital tools that support union campaigns.Preferred Attributes:A track record in, and passion for digital communications to mobilise people for action and to build ongoing supporter relationships and networks.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.Proven experience (5+ years) in developing digital services within unions.Solid understanding of CRM systems, membership systems, digital assets for unions and member journey mapping.Experience with membership system implementation, management and customisation.Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects on time and within budget.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence at all levels.Familiarity with data management, analytics, and security principles related to membership systems and other digital assets utilised within unions.Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable technology plans.Demonstrated commitment to trade union principles and workers' rights.Remuneration will depend on skills and experience.DetailsThe position is available on a full-time permanent basis with a package dependent on skills and experience. Benefits include 12% employer contribution to superannuation, 5 weeks annual leave each year, 1 RDO every 4 weeks, plus an additional 3 days leave between Christmas and New Year.
