Louisiana Tech University Division of University Advancement is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as the Director of Development. The Director of Development reports to the Assistant Vice President for Philanthropy & Engagement. The Director of Development will manage a portfolio of major gift donors ($25,000+) to raise funds for their assigned unit(s). This professional collaborates with Louisiana Tech University Foundation colleagues as well as faculty, staff, and administrative leadership on the Louisiana Tech campus to develop and implement an integrated fundraising strategy for the team to meet fundraising goals. Performance metrics will be determined annually by the Vice President for University Advancement pursuant to the Louisiana Tech University Foundation's annual fundraising goals and University's funding needs and priorities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Required. Previous experience with sales enablement platforms preferred. Demonstrated success in previous fundraising or sales experience preferred. Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains division core values (Transparency, Trust, Teamwork) and commitment to Tenets of Tech to advance the mission and vision of the University. Manages an active, high-volume portfolio of high-net-worth, major gift ($25,000+) prospects in all aspects of the development cycle. Effectively cultivates relationships with these donors with an emphasis on digital-first outreach via email, phone, social media, video conferencing, texting, and face-to-face interaction within EverTrue cloud platform. Executes touchpoint cadences across portfolio to ensure consistent and relevant donor communication, including new relationship development through "polite persistence." Solicits and secures major gifts ($25,000+) from individuals, including new leadership gifts ($5,000+),80% renewals and upgrades and philanthropic opportunities, such as university and college giving priorities, crowdfunding projects, Giving Day and alumni association membership en route to major gift solicitation ($25,000+). Demonstrates the impact of philanthropy to donors. Provides information on university developments and programs relative to their interests. Shares upcoming opportunities to attend events, volunteer, participate in alumni association activities/services, or otherwise deepen their engagement with the university, en route to solicitation for financial support. Works with confidential donor information, regularly and accurately documenting donor interactions and solicitations in the prospect management system, and working with legal documents (e.g., pledge, endowed, capital, and other donor agreements). Builds strong relationships with academic leadership, faculty, and staff across campus to creatively connect institutional needs with opportunities for support from individual donors and achieve team goals. Collaborates effectively with other members of the Advancement Services, Alumni Engagement, Athletics, Development, and Stewardship team as part of a comprehensive multi-channel marketing program and to ensure cultivation and stewardship strategy and plans are developed and executed. Collaborates with Advancement Services and Stewardship in efforts related to planned giving and corporate and foundation relations. Monitors and analyzes data related to team-specific activity and use of donor funds. Actively and continuously learns innovative practices and strategies of fundraising and stays up to date concerning developments for Louisiana Tech University, and the region through internal and external professional development opportunities, relationships, and independent study.
