Cell Therapies Pty Ltd (CTPL) is a commercial Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) located within the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
We specialise in the development and delivery of cell and gene therapies and have more than 20 years' experience in this area.
The growth of CTPL will continue through our commitment to supporting both Australian and international research and development activities, alongside delivery of commercial contracts to provide these highly personalised therapies to patients in Australia and the region.
We are seeking a motivated and suitably experienced Director of Business Development to join the Leadership team to drive our growth and expansion strategy of delivering the promise of advanced therapies.
The role The Director of Business Development reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strategic partnerships, and leading efforts to secure new contracts.
In this role you will be responsible for expanding our market presence locally and globally, to secure clients from big pharma through to academia.
Driving our new marketing strategy with the support of your team will be a key priority, whilst working with key internal stakeholders on proposals.
No week in this role will be the same with meeting potential clients to reviewing our pricing model to drafting contracts or supporting scheduling conversations with our team.
The role requires you to be agile and solutions-focused to get the best outcomes for patients.
What you need to be successful in the role Extensive experience in a business development role within the healthcare or life sciences sectorDemonstrated ability to drive business opportunities from lead to contractAbility to identify emerging clients and opportunities in the fast-growing biotech spaceExperience establishing and refining business development processes and workflowsDemonstrated ability in market research & analysis, business case input, and business risk evaluationExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and distil highly technical information to plain languageExtensive commercial project and/or alliance management experience with large & small companiesThis is an exciting opportunity for a driven, collaborative and curious leader to join an organisation with purpose, passion for excellence and the aspiration to be a global leader in cell and gene therapy.
