Airlift and Tanker Systems Branch (ATS) has important responsibilities to lead, enable and deliver essential Air capabilities for Defence and Australia.
The executive support directorate within ATS is seeking a qualified and experienced Director of Branch Operations (DBO) to lead and support complex operational and planning functions that enable delivery of significant air capabilities for Air Force.

You will need to draw on your extensive technical and behavioural mastery to support corporate business, commercial and program outcomes through:
Provision of sage advice and support upward to the Director General (Military One Star level) and higher headquarters.Management downward within the Branch to Program Offices that support established Medium, Heavy and Future emerging Air Mobility capabilities in various locations around Australia.As the Director Branch Operations, you will have prime responsibility to:
Plan, lead and support the strategic, business, commercial and project support activities with specialised teams across the Branch.Assess and evaluate administrative, business, corporate and policy initiatives and activities including identification of issues and implementation of appropriate procedures and work practices to support and enable Branch outcomes.Interpret and analyse financial, budgetary and workforce requirements required to deliver and sustain capabilities, to ensure accuracy and alignment with wider program deliverables.Exercise sound leadership through clear and consistent communication and effective engagement across a diverse and multi-skilled workforce.Manage the allocation of Branch resources and the Integrated Workforce Partner contract, which is a critical component of CASG workforce.Represent the Director General in senior forums, including Acting in the role as required.The intention is to create a Merit Pool from this recruitment, which will be utilised to fill similar emerging EL 2 vacancies across ATS in the near future.
About our Team Airlift and Tanker Systems (ATS) Branch is responsible for the sustainment and related acquisition of key capabilities for Air Force.
The Branch partners with Defence Industry and allied forces to acquire, sustain and deliver Aerospace weapon systems (Aircraft and their supporting systems) for Air Mobility Group within Air Force.
To assist you with the demands of this role and broad scope of work, you will lead a small, dynamic and highly responsive team composed of skilled and motivated Australian Public Service and Australian Defence Force personnel.
