Director position – Energy Transition and Strategy Key role shaping Victoria's energy transition future Significant leadership and stakeholder management role About the organisation The Networks and Distributed Energy Resources Integration Branch is part of the Energy Transition and Strategy Division within DEECA.
The branch is responsible for ensuring that electricity and gas network policy and regulatory frameworks are fit for purpose to enable transition to renewable energy and ensure affordable energy for Victorian consumers.
The branch aims to optimise the use of distribution networks by effectively integrating energy technologies such as rooftop solar, batteries, electric vehicles, and efficient electric appliances.
The branch is also responsible for Victoria's engagement in national energy reform through the Energy and Climate Change Ministerial Council.
About the role The Director, Networks and DER Integration will lead a team of policy analysts responsible for developing and implementing policy on electricity and gas networks, feed-in tariffs, distributed energy resources and their integration into the electricity market and EV charging.
As a leadership role, the position is responsible for growing and building the capability and competency of the team.
This team will spearhead innovative policy initiatives for Victoria's electricity and gas networks.
The successful candidate will be required to influence and collaborate with a range of key government and industry stakeholders to establish highly strategic partnerships.
About you Tertiary qualified in either law, economics, commerce, or a related discipline, you have highly developed leadership qualities that will enable you to grow and nurture high-performing policy and program delivery teams by building team capability.
Ideally, you have a deep understanding of the energy sector or a related field, with exposure to or experience in the development of regulatory policy.
Your success will be defined by your ability to communicate, engage, and negotiate with a range of stakeholders with interests in the energy sector.
Also critical will be your ability to think critically and manage resources to deliver strong outcomes.
Personally, you are resilient and demonstrate consistency in your actions and values.
