What you'll be doing
Director of Medical Services (DMS) is a key member of the Mental Health Service Executive leadership team and is accountable in collaboration with senior clinical and management colleagues for ensuring the delivery of quality clinical outcomes, MHS KPIs and strategic priorities. The DMS will lead the development of medical workforce at MHS including appropriate educational and accreditation activities. The DMS will provide advice on management of patient safety, patient liaison and complaints, review of adverse events and medico-legal issues. The DMS will promote and provide support to education and research within MHS.

How to Apply

Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the RANZCP and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Demonstrated leadership skills within a complex health service with the ability to motivate and organise staff to achieve organisational, program and professional outcomes. Demonstrated ability and experience in clinical strategic planning and clinical leadership for the provision of programs and services consistent with the responsibilities of the position. Demonstrated experience in medical workforce management and supporting the delivery of medical education, including knowledge of systems and issues included in management of staff specialists, VMOs, clinical academics and junior medical staff. Proven ability to design and lead change initiatives/quality improvement with the purpose of enhancing the delivery of care in a mental health setting. Demonstrate ability to communicate, consult and negotiate with senior health professionals, management, external interest groups and government agencies. Additional Information Salary Packaging
