Temporary Full time opportunity to provide clinical care and treatment within a multi-disciplinary clinical team and administrative and educational services to consumers and staff in MNMH. You will be responsible for ensuring that medical education and training programs for interns, resident medical officers, and registrars meet best practice and are of the highest professional, ethical, and educational standards across Metro North Mental Health (MNMH).
About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Lead and participate in programs to develop teaching and clinical supervision skills to support the continuity of effective training and teaching of medical staff.Contribute to professional education and training programs to ensure that appropriate standards are met through continuing professional development.Provide clinical leadership to the team and with the Nurse Unit Manager / Team Manager ensuring the smooth, efficient, and effective operation of the service.Attend team review meetings and education sessions.Provide supervision/teaching to registrars, junior medical staff, medical students, and other professional staff within the team.Health Equity It is expected that all Metro North Health staff, including the incumbent of this role as a valuable member of the Metro North workforce, contribute to the health equity agenda and meet the intent of supporting the defined six actions that specifically meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS), by actively supporting the elimination of racial discrimination and institutional racism; supporting increased access to health care; influencing the social, cultural and economic determinants of health; supporting the delivery of sustainable, culturally safe and responsive health services; and recognising the importance of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations to design, deliver, monitor, and review the health and support services we provide.
