Reporting to the Deputy Ombudsman, the Director, Legal will provide an in-house legal advisory service to the Victorian Ombudsman's Office on a diverse range of issues relating to the Ombudsman's duties, powers and functions.Reporting to the Deputy Ombudsman, the role of the Director, Legal is to provide an in-house legal advisory service to the Victorian Ombudsman Office. The success of the role and the broader Legal Team will be through leading and driving a culture of integrity and high performance to provide quality oral and written legal advice across the organisation on a diverse range of issues relating to the Ombudsman's duties, powers and functions.Senior ExecutiveFixed term 5-year appointmentSES1 - $216,376 to $279,238 TRP per annum inclusive of employer superannuation contribution.The OrganisationThe Victorian Ombudsman (VO) is independent of Government and answerable to the Victorian Parliament, in part through the Integrity and Oversight Committee of the Parliament. The VO provides a free, independent, accessible and impartial service to the public. Our purpose is to ensure fairness for the public in their dealings with the Victorian public sector, to improve public administration, and engage within both public organisations, the government sector and the broader community.
