Director, Its Operations, Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

Director, ITS Operations, Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Location: Flexible (ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC)Type: Full-time, ongoing We are looking for a passionate and motivated Director to lead the IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity transformation at the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
This is a highly autonomous senior role.
ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, delivery of IT services, and cybersecurity across AMSA.
This role is critical for driving transformation, modernization, and continuous improvement of core IT capabilities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the IT Operations and Cybersecurity team, ensuring effective service delivery.
Oversee end-to-end IT service delivery processes in line with SLAs and business expectations.
Develop and implement a service delivery model reflecting AMSA's regional nature.
Continuously improve operations, services, processes, and control environments.
Direct the delivery of projects that enhance capabilities within the scope of responsibilities.
Ensure robust lifecycle management plans for IT assets.
Establish and maintain service catalogs and service level agreements.
Provide IT security advice to leadership and stakeholders.
Define and implement IT security controls to protect AMSA's operations.
Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Government regulations.
Maintain a security operations center capability.
Define and maintain a cybersecurity assurance framework.
Ensure effective capacity planning for growth and change.
Develop and execute strategies to modernize core IT capabilities.
Lead and Chair AMSA's Change Advisory Board.
Manage the budget and resources for IT operations.
Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals.
Commit to the AMSA Code of Conduct and Values.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE To be successful in this position, you will have: Extensive experience in IT Operations and Service Delivery.
Experience in Cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
Experience in senior IT leadership roles.
Experience managing 3rd party suppliers.
Experience leading IT services to geographically diverse locations.
Experience in managing a team, including performance and budget management.
Ability to manage sensitive information.
