Who We Are The Information Service Division (ISD) is responsible for the smooth delivery and support of core Information Communication Technology (ICT) services to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) and a range of shared services partners. ISD's core purpose is ensuring that our customers have the technology they need to effectively deliver on government priorities. Supporting a diverse range of agencies and functions means our ICT environment and services are broad and complex.
We are seeking high performing candidates at the Director (EL2) level to lead the sections responsible for ICT Infrastructure and Cyber Security. In addition to these roles, this round will be used to form a merit pool for future opportunities within ISD over the next 18 months.
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced candidates to work as part of our broader team, and with a range of internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the delivery of quality services to all of our clients.
The key duties of the position include Director - Information Communication Technology (ICT) InfrastructureThe Director of ICT Infrastructure is responsible for working with the Chief Information Officer to plan, maintain and improve the ICT Infrastructure within PM&C. In this role, you will manage a team of specialists to improve Infrastructure management and ensure the successful delivery of technology outcomes.
These duties include, but are not limited to:
Lead the delivery of efficient, effective and contemporary ICT services and solutions in support of the department's strategic and operational objectives.Provide technical, operational and strategic advice on ICT services, planning and integration.Promote a culture of learning and collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of ICT operations and Technology Strategies.Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimise disruption to business operations.Build capacity and deliver effective operational outcomes in line with the department's Technology Strategy.Establish ICT plans to achieve sustainable business outcomes, including process improvement, benchmarking, delivering or procuring commercial services to meet business needs.Negotiate and manage outcomes with third party suppliers and arrangement of tenders through established panels including preparation and management.Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders and other agencies.Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Government policy, standards, regulations and legislation.Director - Cyber SecurityThe Director of Cyber Security is responsible for leading a small team of cyber professionals in the day-to-day operational cyber security of PM&C and shared service partners across three distinct networks. This position is responsible for providing cyber security guidance and advice to internal and external customers, overseeing and producing Cyber Governance Risk and Compliance activities and coordinating incident resolution and remediation.
These duties include, but are not limited to:
Deliver and maintain cyber security policies, plans and procedures.Coordinate, review and deliver cyber security artefacts used in Authority to Operate processes.Deliver, maintain and present cyber security training for staff members.Provide technical security advice in the planning and implementation of new hardware and software solutions, allowing for both client requirements and Australian Government security guidelines.Coordinate cyber security investigations.Develop briefs for Senior Executives, Boards and Committees.Oversee cyber uplift programs, changes and minor projects.Coordinating and leading a small cyber security team.Applicants must have a cyber security background, preferably with the application of ICT security services in Australian Government and must have experience in the security standards of Government networks.
Previous experience in an IT Security Adviser or similar role is highly desirable. Applicants must be able to write and maintain cyber security documentation, such as security policy and security risk assessments, in accordance with Australian Government, departmental and international standards. The occupant must be able to work independently, have an eye for detail and be able to prioritise multiple tasks. Applicant must have good written and verbal briefing skills and be able to interpret technical details for a non-technical audience.
