Senior Administrative Officer 2 - Remuneration Package $173,372 - $188,812Northern Territory Geological SurveyDarwinOngoing vacancyThe Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) is the custodian of knowledge and data on the Territory's geology and resources, and undertakes activities to support and grow the minerals and energy exploration industry.
This includes Resourcing the Territory, a $9.5 million ongoing program providing pre-competitive geoscience and exploration stimulus programs designed to increase exploration activity and success rates.As the Director Industry Reporting and Core Facilities, you will:Strategically lead a diverse team to manage statutory technical reporting by the exploration industry.Provide advice on industry exploration work programs.Maximise the accessibility and usability of industry-submitted technical reports, geoscientific data, and samples to support the growth and development of the Territory's exploration sector.Drive continual improvement in the accessibility, quality, and usability of open file industry data and samples to improve the Territory's competitiveness in attracting exploration investment.Develop strong relationships and networks within industry and across Government, influencing resource policy and the development of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.Maximise meaningful exploration activity in the Territory by providing and coordinating technical advice to inform the grant and renewal of exploration titles.Provide strategic leadership for NTGS Core Facilities in Darwin and Alice Springs, including planning for future expansion and ensuring delivery of best practice client service and provision of high-quality logistical support to NTGS field programs.This is a great time to consider moving to the Territory.
