About the opportunity There is currently one (1) fixed term, 6 month full-time opportunity with the possibility of extension available for immediate filling.
As the Director Incident and Emergency Management you will provide strategic and operational advice and support to emergency responses, including large scale biosecurity incident responses and natural disasters. This role is critical to ensuring the department meets its requirements as a Hazard Management Agency.
This role also supports the Executive Director in making decisions regarding priorities and addressing stakeholder expectations in the management of emergency response activities.
We are looking for individuals with:
Substantial experience leading in a contemporary emergency management environment, in particular capability and response.Demonstrated excellence in relationship building, communication and influencing including the ability to negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders such as state and federal government representatives and industry.Highly developed ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams of professionals to deliver in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.Proven track record using a continuous improvement approach to deliver and plan systems for emergency management.How to Apply Click the Apply button and attach the following to your application:

Employment Conditions and Additional Information DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.

To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application.
