About the JobWe're seeking a Director, Human Resources for the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism. In this pivotal role, you will reshape the human resources business model, ensuring our workforce is fully equipped to deliver exceptional service aligned with our business priorities and values of inclusivity and respect.
What You'll Be Doing…Provide professional, authoritative, and timely strategic advice to the Chief HR Officer, Director-General, Deputy Directors-General, and other senior management on issues of a complex and sensitive nature pertaining to human resources, employee grievances and discipline, industrial relations, enterprise bargaining, safety health and wellbeing.Establish and maintain effective relationships with relevant industrial unions, the Public Sector Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, and all internal stakeholders.Represent the department's interest with external service providers to ensure the provision of critical services to the department e.g., payroll.Continually assess stakeholder needs and preferences and translate insights into actionable strategies that build effective partnerships with client groups and senior executives.Formulate and prepare submissions and briefing papers of a complex nature and negotiate recommendations at the executive level on strategies, policies and practices.Provide leadership and direction to the team by promoting and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.Ensure effective management of human, financial and physical resources.Oversee the delivery of operational programs of work in Human Resources Partnerships, Data Systems, Industrial Relations, Workplace Health and Safety and Workforce Engagement – aligned to the department's strategic priorities.Your Talents…A proven leader capable of managing complex HR matters, including significant organisational change.Extensive knowledge in human resources, including industrial relations and workplace health and safety.Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and align HR strategies with business objectives.Relevant qualifications in HR or related fields, or significant experience in a similar role.Interested in Applying?Apply online via the Smart jobs and careers website at https://smartjobs.qld.gov.au/jobs/QLD-610398-24 before the closing date on Sunday, 12 January 2025.
