Director, HR Advisory and Workplace RelationsDue to a recent internal promotion, The University of Adelaide is seeking a Director, HR Advisory and Workplace Relations to join the HR team on a fixed-term contract until December 2025.

This role requires a dynamic individual who can provide expert HR advice, maintain key senior relationships internal and external to the University, and promote a culture of customer service excellence within the HR Advisory and Workplace Relations portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will actively contribute to the strategic planning for the HR branch and apply your expertise to executing and delivering key HR initiatives and solutions.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring the effective delivery of services across the areas of strategic HR partnering, HR and Workplace Relations advisory, case management and HR query management.
You will provide expert HR and industrial advice to enable informed decision making at the highest levels.
You will also establish strong networks within the University, supporting senior managers as they drive change throughout the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
Actively participate in HR Executive, HR Branch and Leadership Team meetingsContribute to the strategic planning of the HR FunctionLead the effective delivery of services provided by the HR Advisory and Workplace Relations PortfolioProvide expert HR and industrial advice to senior leaders to enable informed decision makingSupport senior managers to successfully drive change throughout the UniversityEstablish strong networks within the University and with external stakeholdersPromote, monitor and evaluate customer service performance of the teamKey requirements:
Proven track record in effectively leading a large, multi-stream HR team within a large and complex environmentExtensive knowledge of employment legislation and regulationsExperience in leading and influencing change within the workplaceHighly developed interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and adapt to emerging prioritiesAbility to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discoveryThe ideal applicant for this role brings extensive experience in leading a multi-stream HR function.
You have demonstrated ability in leading and influencing change within the workplace and promoting a customer-centric service culture.
You possess extensive knowledge of employment legislation and regulations, and your highly developed interpersonal skills allow you to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
Having worked in large and complex environments, you are adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously while adapting quickly to emerging priorities.
