Director Health Practitioner Research and Digital TransformationExciting Role- Permanent, Full-time, Herston | Provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of statewide and national allied health research and digital initiatives, policy and reform.
The role
The Director of Health Practitioner Research and Digital Transformation is a key leader of allied health reform within the Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer.
Reporting to the Chief Allied Health Officer, this role leads a multidisciplinary team to strengthen allied health and healthcare.
The position provides high-level leadership in statewide research and digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving workforce capacity, capability, and outcomes for Health Practitioners and allied health professionals across Queensland Health.
This includes an ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to build and manage statewide research, translational research, evidence-based practice, and digital transformation frameworks that ensure high-level research and digital strategies result in enhanced clinical practice and improved patient outcomes.
In addition, the Director Health Practitioner Research and Digital Transformation is involved in preparing high-quality reports, managing financial resources, and providing authoritative advice to senior executives and external stakeholders on allied health workforce and policy matters more broadly.
The successful person
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate highly developed communication, influencing, policy analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to negotiate and assert yourself while building productive and positive partnerships.
You will have significant experience in allied health, policy coordination, and project delivery within a large, complex environment, including the ability to analyze and integrate information from multiple sources and respond to changing expectations and deliverables.
You will have a demonstrated ability to work in partnership with the university sector and research institutes, key digital stakeholders, and agencies, and across Health Practitioner professions and Hospital and Health Services with a focus on supporting statewide and national strategy and policy implementation.
Additionally, you must exhibit strong leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, promoting a positive work environment and the importance of delivering outcomes across the health sector.
You will be skilled at navigating change and complexity within a government environment, with demonstrated high-level abilities to problem-solve and provide practical solutions to complex issues and situations.
Furthermore, you need to demonstrate the ability to consult and provide authoritative expert advice on complex allied health research and digital policy and reform issues to both internal and external stakeholders, including government executives and peak organizations.
A formal qualification in an eligible Health Practitioner profession, as outlined in the Health Practitioners and Dental Officers (Queensland Health Certified Agreement No.
4) 2022, is mandatory.
Although not required, a postgraduate qualification, such as a master's or PhD in research, is highly desirable.
Occasional travel within and outside the State may also be necessary.
