Interested in joining an organisation at the forefront of agvet chemical regulation in Australia?Directors in Health section are primarily responsible for ensuring human health and safety of uses approved by the APVMA for agricultural and veterinary products. They manage the process of pre- and post-marketing risk assessment and chemical evaluation undertaken by themselves, staff, other APVMA officers and external service providers to agreed timeframes. The Health team is led by two co-Directors, working closely together.In this role, you will also manage relationships with external service providers, internal and external clients, and stakeholders, including commonwealth, state and industry bodies and non-government organisations.More information on the position can be found in the Candidate Information Package below.Our Ideal Candidate /Selection criteriaTo be considered for these roles you will need the following essential criteria:Demonstrated high-level experience and analytical skills in human health and safety assessment and toxicology, preferably in the context of a regulatory environment. Ability to solve problems, show judgement, pay attention to detail and make decisions based on sound science and risk analysis.Highly developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, liaison and negotiation skills.Highly developed leadership and management skills that demonstrate a commitment to coaching and developing staff, including a demonstrated ability to manage budgets, complex workloads, set priorities and gain commitment from staff and external providers to meet deadlines.Knowledge of the regulatory and legislative environment of the APVMA.
