Job DescriptionDirector, Group Performance and Insights - 57068 Permanent Full timeSydney Location How will I help? The Director, Group Performance Insights sits in our Group Finance Business Unit.
This high-impact role will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of financial outcomes for Westpac's stress testing processes, including both internal and industry-wide stress tests.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to build a comprehensive driver-based revenue model and perform in-depth analysis to evaluate the bank's financial resilience under various macroeconomic scenarios.
Additionally, you will play a key role in driving the ongoing enhancement of our financial modelling capabilities while contributing to business-wide decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include: Stress Testing: Lead the delivery of stress testing outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and assessing the bank's financial position under adverse macroeconomic conditions.Financial Modelling: Design and develop robust financial models to assess the impact of macroeconomic shocks and pricing initiatives on Net Interest Margins (NIM) at the line of business level.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with GP&I and Divisional Finance teams to continuously improve and enhance financial modelling practices and capabilities within the finance function.Performance Insights: Provide actionable performance insights to senior leadership, supporting decision-making and helping drive a cultural shift toward forward-looking, data-driven, and strategic conversations.Leadership: Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the GP&I team.Policy & Standards: Develop and maintain policies and guidelines to ensure consistent financial modelling practices, aligning with Westpac's business goals.What do I need? To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong blend of financial modelling expertise, advanced analytics, and stakeholder engagement skills.
You will have:
Proven years of experience in financial modelling, with a strong background in revenue banking and balance sheet forecasting.Proven capability in stress testing and analysing the impact of macroeconomic conditions on financial performance.Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.Expertise in MS Excel and financial modelling tools, with experience in managing large data sets.A track record of senior stakeholder management and collaborating across business divisions.Commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial modelling insights into strategic decisions.Leadership experience in mentoring and developing teams.
