About the team – The Grants Branch sits within the ASC's Finance & Governance Group, it is responsible for coordinating and supporting business areas in the ASC to plan, design and deliver grant programs. We ensure that the administration of grant programs is:
efficient, effective, transparent and ethicalcompliant with the ASC Grant Management Framework, andcompliant with government legislation and policy requirements for the expenditure of public money.About the role – We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead the ASC Grants Branch who has senior-level experience in the planning, design and delivery of diverse grant programs, management of financial resources and business systems, compliance and risk management, business planning and strategy development, and reporting to senior stakeholders. Responsibilities include:
Providing high-level strategic leadership, advice and direction to the Grants Branch (Branch), Finance & Governance Group (Group) and across the ASC to achieve team and business outcomes. This includes:Leading the implementation of the ASC's Grant Management Framework across the ASC to ensure ASC grant programs are administered in an ethical and equitable fashion with due regard to probity, transparency and accountability.Leading and ensuring the ASC demonstrates compliance with all legislative and grant policy requirements for the expenditure of public money, including adopting best practice principles from the Australian National Audit Office.Overseeing the ongoing development of contemporary technology systems to support the implementation of the ASC's Grant Management Framework and ensure business efficiency in administering grant programs.Initiating, developing and implementing sustainable business development plans, strategies and systems.Managing the development and implementation of frameworks, policies, guidelines and other resources that deliver business outcomes for the ASC, ensuring effective management of compliance and risk.Within established policy parameters, provide overall management responsibility for the Branch, ensuring high level judgement, decision making and advice to deliver effective people management that motivates employees and optimises both individual and team performance.About you – We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and experience delivering grants programs in a Government context. The successful candidate will have:
Degree or higher qualification/s in business, accounting, policy and demonstrated senior level experience in planning, designing and delivering diverse grant programs, preferably within the Australian Government.Demonstrated strong business acumen and experience in managing financial resources, business systems, compliance and risk management, business planning and strategy development, and reporting to senior stakeholders including Government Ministers, Boards and Senior Executives.Proven ability to plan for, and successfully achieve, work objectives within an often fast-moving environment.Experience in successfully managing a diverse team, including demonstrated success in achieving team and project objectives and cohesion in line with a strategic direction.Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience in providing timely, compelling and concise advice to inform Executive team members and senior management to support decision making.This position is offered as an ONGOING position.
