The Director, Governance, Strategy and Planning delivers forward-focused strategic initiatives, cross-divisional policy, monitoring and evaluation of education strategies, and design and visualization that supports the department's strategic direction.
This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Opportunity:
Governance, Strategy and Planning supports evidence-based decision-making across the department by leading contemporary strategy development, governance, planning, portfolio reporting, and management and maturity development for customer complaints, human rights, risk, and policy and procedure.
As the Director, you will:
Provide leadership in corporate governance and accountability through the effective development and implementation of frameworks and systems that positively position the department through governance, strategic and operational planning, service design, business review, portfolio, program and project management, reporting, performance, and risk management.Drive and coordinate the department's input into whole of government and national activities that can inform the department's decision-making and future directions.Responsibilities include:
Lead development of departmental strategies for early childhood and education including the Department of Education Strategic Plan, working closely with other divisions.Oversee implementation of departmental strategy, including monitoring and evaluation.Support senior executives in the policy development of strategic initiatives.Deliver visualization and design across a range of projects and activities to support innovative and engaging communication.Our ideal applicant will:
