As a Director, you will be responsible for leading and providing strategic direction for the Governance, Engagement and Community team, ensuring successful delivery of the team's programs of work.
These include procurement capability, training and other professional development initiatives, procurement-related governance and engagement (including roadshows and award programs), and social procurement.
At present, the role is also responsible for ensuring the implementation of several initiatives that are part of the Queensland Government's procurement approach.
The role is required to work across the whole-of-Queensland Government and other government jurisdictions, along with external stakeholders such as industry bodies and individual businesses.
It is also responsible for the provision of strategic advice regarding a wide variety of procurement matters.
What you will be doing:Lead, manage and provide strategic direction to the Governance, Engagement and Community team, ensuring the successful delivery of the team's programs of work related to procurement capability, governance and engagement, and social procurement, including implementation of select initiatives under the Queensland Government's procurement approach.Providing strategic advice across a broad range of procurement-related matters and topics, including identifying contemporary and innovative solutions to improve outcomes, to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership and Ministerial levels.Promoting and facilitating communication and connectivity across the Queensland Government's procurement function broadly and also within the Procurement division, in support of delivering optimal outcomes.Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders to support consultation for key initiatives.Representing the organisation at meetings, forums and other events as required (including engagement with members of the public), with an ability to communicate confidently and advocate and negotiate outcomes as needed.Exercising financial and human resource delegations, along with ongoing management to ensure that the use of financial and human resources is optimised and delivery is maintained.As a member of the Policy leadership team, proactively develop the capability and expertise of managers and staff to improve procurement outcomes.
