The Opportunity Cochlear is looking for a Director - Global Manufacturing Operational Excellence to establish and lead the Manufacturing Operational Excellence function across our global network of manufacturing sites.
The Manufacturing Operational Excellence function is responsible for:
Providing global governance and strategic oversight for the Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Training functions.Fostering a culture of lean and continuous improvement through the establishment and evolution of the Cochlear Manufacturing System (CMS).Supporting and enabling global sites to adopt and embed best practices through utilization of the CMS, and through the coaching/mentoring of site-based Industrial Engineers.This is a permanent full-time role based in Cochlear's Global Headquarters in Macquarie University.
Your responsibilities will include… Establish, develop and coach team to meet current and future business needs.Develop and drive short to mid-term (1-3 years) department strategy.Lead, direct and control activities of a department to achieve the short and medium-term financial and operating objectives set by the overall organization business plan.Set standards and pace for the implementation of change, improvement initiatives across the function.Influence/negotiate with others to accept complete proposals, practices and approaches.Ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.Collaborates and builds alignment with others to meet business goals and objectives.About You: Required Skills: 5+ years demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement programs within a complex manufacturing environmentDemonstrated ability to influence cultural changeAbility to lead without authorityDesired Skills: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Master Black BeltMedical device manufacturing experienceExperience working across global sites and functionsDevelopmental Value of the role: The opportunity to shape Cochlear's global Manufacturing Operational Excellence functionWork across organisational boundaries and have great visibility with leadership teamAbility to influence stakeholders globallyPlease note: due to Cochlear's shutdown period, we will only review your application in Mid-January 2025.
