Join us to build a better VPS This role is a unique opportunity to work across government to help make the Victorian Public Sector (VPS) an employer of choice for First Nations people.
The role requires a strong, First Nations leader to help build capability and capacity across the VPS to provide safe, healthy and productive workplaces where all employees can thrive.
You will be responsible for: Leading the Barring Djinang program delivery, improving and supporting First Nations employees' recruitment, participation and progression across the VPS workforce, while also ensuring all VPS agencies provide culturally safe working environments.Providing lived experience and professional expertise to guide development of the First Peoples cultural capability development for the VPS workforce and inform all VPSC work (including strategy, data and analysis) to incorporate and be guided by First Peoples considerations.Who we're looking for: A strong leader who can build a thriving team and broader momentum to improve outcomes for First Nations employees across the VPS workforce.A creative problem-solver and direction-setter who can navigate across central agencies, VPS and public sector to mobilise around a shared agenda.A respected member of the First Peoples community in Victoria who can build the VPS value proposition as an employer for First Peoples across Victoria.Strong networks across the First Peoples community in Victoria.A good understanding of the VPS and wider public sector.A relevant tertiary qualification, public policy or public administration, or equivalent experience.Ideally, you can also demonstrate: Experience in working across a range of VPS agencies and roles.Central agency experience.Cross-sectoral experience.Who we are: The Victorian Public Sector Commission plays a key role in stewardship of the public sector.
