Are you an experienced Fire Safety Engineer open to relocation abroad?
On behalf of a high-profile client, we are searching for a Director Fire Engineering to lead a small team, conduct fire engineering assessments, ensure compliance with life safety regulations and codes, and develop and implement comprehensive fire safety plans for a variety of construction projects in the Sydney area. This role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, with options for remote work.
Our client is a premier fire safety engineering consultancy located in the Greater Sydney area. While they serve clients across Australia, the primary focus is in and around NSW. With extensive experience in all aspects of building types, sizes, and ages, and using international building codes from Australia, New Zealand, Europe, UK, the Middle East, and North America, the company offers qualified and accredited fire engineering consultancy services to various building sectors.
Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of fire engineers and support staff.Foster a collaborative work environment, support professional development, and oversee performance reviews.Liaise with architects, builders, developers, and authorities to integrate fire safety solutions early in project planning.Conduct detailed fire engineering assessments, ensuring compliance with Australian fire safety standards, codes, and regulations.Develop proposals, estimate project costs, and negotiate contracts.Engage with clients to understand project needs and provide tailored fire safety solutions.Ensure all projects comply with local, national, and international fire safety regulations, including the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.Develop and implement comprehensive fire safety strategies for various building types, such as residential, commercial, and industrial properties.Review and sign off on all fire safety documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance.Stay updated with advancements in fire engineering practices, technologies, and regulatory changes.Participate in industry forums, seminars, and associations to remain engaged with industry developments.Qualifications Must have 8-10 years of experience in the related field post qualification.Fire Safety Engineering MSC/BSc.Fire and Life Safety Engineering experience from Australia an advantage.Strong experience in inspections, witness testing/commissioning and verification of fire safety strategy implementation and associated documentation.Knowledge of Australian fire safety regulations and codes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Attention to detail and ability to work with complex technical information.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Have or capable of achieving accreditation/registration as a Professional Engineer / Design practitioner in NSW (specifically for working on Residential projects).Have or capable of achieving accreditation/registration as a Certifier - Fire Safety in NSW.To apply submit a recent copy of your resume for immediate consideration or call Shakeel Kazmi in confidence for more details.
