The Opportunity
This senior leadership role is an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced financial compliance professional to shape and uphold regulatory standards within Queensland's building and construction landscape. As the Director of Financial Standards and Investigations, you will play a critical role in overseeing QBCC's Financial Compliance Branch, ensuring effective enforcement of project trust obligations, and upholding licensees' financial compliance under the QBCC Act and Minimum Financial Requirements Regulation.
Key Responsibilities Lead QBCC's Financial Compliance Branch, ensuring delivery of high-quality regulatory services;Design and implement state-wide compliance strategies, including annual audit programs;Provide strategic guidance to QBCC's leadership, including the Board and Commissioner, on financial compliance matters;Cultivate productive relationships with industry stakeholders to promote QBCC's regulatory mission;Mentor and guide a team of compliance professionals to achieve key organisational objectives.Required Experience
The ideal candidate will bring substantial leadership experience in financial compliance, preferably within a regulatory or enforcement environment such as consumer protection or law enforcement. A robust knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and proficiency in interpreting financial data are essential. You'll also demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and the ability to provide high-level strategic advice. Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, or accounting, along with professional accreditations (e.g., CPA, CA), are highly desirable.
