Newmont Australian Operations are located in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and New South Wales with roles in operations, projects, and exploration. Regional Support is provided from our offices in Subiaco and Melbourne.

About this role What will you be responsible for?
Lead Newmont's sustaining capital delivery strategy, ensuring alignment with Newmont strategic direction and Operational goals, technical excellence, enterprise-level reporting and successful execution of sustaining capital projects through implementation of best practice standards and work processes.

Growth Strategy/Governance The Director, Enterprise Sustaining Capital Portfolio will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Newmont's global sustaining capital delivery strategy. Design sophisticated sustaining capital project delivery strategies and approaches based on the internal and external context of the project portfolio, its objectives, stakeholders, governance and market dynamics. Ensure alignment between sustaining capital projects and the company's long-term strategic direction, operational goals, and sustainability objectives. Continually evaluate exposure to risk, both opportunities and threats, to maximize positive impacts and mitigate negative impacts on the sustaining capital portfolio. Build governance and assurance processes to meet and exceed regulatory requirements. Operations Excellence Coordinate sustaining capital project delivery teams across different regions, including Australia, Africa, and the Americas. Drive the implementation of best practices and standardization across the portfolio, ensuring high-quality project outcomes. Work collaboratively with site Operations leadership to manage a global portfolio of sustaining capital projects, including site-based projects ranging from mine development to infrastructure maintenance and process improvements. Ensure the application of technical standards, methodologies, and processes to achieve optimal project delivery and operational readiness. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the sustaining capital portfolio, seeking opportunities to enhance project execution, reduce costs, and improve project delivery timelines. Implement and maintain best-in-class capital planning tools, project management systems, and sustaining capital project delivery frameworks. Establish and maintain governance structures, work processes, and reporting mechanisms to monitor project performance at an enterprise level. Provide enterprise-level reporting to senior Newmont leadership, including key performance indicators, financial forecasts, risk management, and project status updates. Lead the development and implementation of policies, standards, guidelines, procedures and templates as they relate to sustaining capital projects. Provide technical guidance and support to sustaining capital project teams to resolve complex delivery challenges. Collaborate with the Managing Directors for Operations in each region to align sustaining capital project initiatives with site requirements and broader project management objectives. Here is what we need to see from you!
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MEng) or relevant professional certifications (PMP, PMI) is preferred. Experience: Experience leading global, cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget. Proven track record in senior project management roles and demonstrated commitment to the successful implementation of projects. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile) and best practices for project delivery. Familiarity with mining industry-specific regulations, operational challenges, and sustainability trends. Skills and Abilities: Ability to construct relationships between several systems, integrating and managing them. Ability to contemplate the full complexity and context of the development when designing and implementing strategies, systems, approaches and developing capability. Advanced proficiency delivering projects. Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project) and financial planning tools. Working conditions & location

Working conditions and location: The primary location for this position is Perth, Australia. However, Denver and Vancouver will be considered as alternate locations for this role. Significant international and domestic travel, including to sites that are sometimes in remote and complex operating environments.
