The Business Council actively collaborates with other community and business groups, political leaders at all levels of government and engages directly with the community to achieve our vision and purpose.Our membership is made up of the CEOs of Australia's largest companies representing a range of sectors including mining, retail, manufacturing, infrastructure, information technology, financial services and banking, energy, professional services, transport, and telecommunications.About the positionReporting to the Executive Director of Policy, the Director, Digital, Cyber and Future Industries supports the development and delivery of the Business Council of Australia's (BCA) policy and engagement on digital technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security, privacy, and future industries.A key focus will also be identifying the opportunities for business engagement with pillar two of the AUKUS agreement. The Director works closely with key stakeholders, representing BCA members on key policy issues and advocacy to drive future industries in a frontier economy.Key responsibilities:Consult widely and frequently within the membership to draw on the experiences and knowledge of member companies to inform policy development and ensure the BCA's policy agenda reflects the interests and priorities of our membership.Engage closely with key stakeholders to represent and lead the policy agenda in the key priorities relevant to the digital economy, AI, cyber, and the development and growth of future industries.Lead the policy development for engagement in pillar two of the AUKUS agreement.Work closely with colleagues in the BCA policy team on cross cutting issues such as privacy reform, skills, net-zero economy and research commercialisation.Undertake analysis and advice on relevant regulatory and policy issues, including representing the BCA on government committees, appearing before inquiries, and writing submissions.The role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra.
