Safe Steps has been in operation for 47 years and is the only 24/7, family violence response centre in Victoria, providing a comprehensive support service for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.
Safe Steps vision is to create safety, support and respect for all victim-survivors of family violence.
With a dynamic CEO and Board, Safe Steps is growing rapidly, with a vision to double the size of the organisation and clients it serves over the next 3 years.

Safe Steps provides crisis support services, including a 24/7 emergency hotline and the provision of short-term emergency accommodation for victim-survivors.
In addition, Safe Steps operates the 1800 RESPECT Hotline on behalf of the Federal Government, due to its deep expertise in domestic violence, risk management and client support.

As a member of the Safe Steps Executive Team, reporting to the CEO, the Director - Crisis Response and Residential Services is responsible for delivering evidence-based support services across our 24/7 hotlines and residential accommodation and support centres, ensuring diversity, inclusion, and equity are embedded in all aspects of the organisation for the benefit of clients and staff.

Specifically, the role will be responsible for:
Meeting contractual SLA's for major services provided on behalf of the Federal and Victorian State Governments, including 1800 RESPECT and state wide disability and court services Ensuring the highest standard of risk assessment and customer support Ensuring the safety and security of all clients in residential care Managing the provision and operation of a variety of tailored residential care facilities and solutions Providing thought leadership and innovation in the next generation of service delivery channels Provide strong leadership to all staff, ensuring high levels of staff care and wellbeing, retention, development and performance Our ideal candidate will have:
A deep understanding and expertise in the domestic violence space in Australia Experience in leading in a crisis environment, with a deep understanding of psychosocial environments Demonstrated expertise in risk management, delivering against KPI's and contractual commitments Demonstrated expertise in implementing innovation in service delivery models and client experience The empathy to deeply understand client and staff experience, with the resilience and expertise to drive growth and change in service delivery models Experience in operating in high security environments A coaching style of leadership, delivered through humility and curiosity A strong drive for growth with exceptional change management skills For a confidential initial discussion, please forward your resume to our search partner, Craig Taplin - Managing Director, Momentis Services or contact Craig at .
