Director, Credit Risk Join Zip's Risk team, where you will be putting your name to a variety of business-critical initiatives attached to our ANZ strategy, including uplifting our credit risk management, fraud control, and credit decisioning capabilities.
What you'll own As our Director of Credit Risk, you will play a pivotal role in managing and driving all aspects of credit risk across the ANZ region.
Reporting to the Chief Credit Risk Officer (ANZ), this senior leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing credit risk strategies, frameworks, and models to support Zip's sustainable growth ambitions while ensuring sound credit decisions, portfolio quality, and robust risk controls.
You'll be responsible for:
Credit risk strategy - Develop and execute the company's credit risk strategy across the entire credit risk life cycle.Portfolio Oversight & Risk Analytics - Development, implementation, monitoring, and validation of all credit risk models, ensuring alignment with the organisation's risk appetite.Regulatory & Compliance Requirements - Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ASX reporting standards related to credit risk.Leadership & Team Development - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit risk professionals, including data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.Stakeholder Collaboration - Build strong stakeholder relationships, working closely with senior leadership across product, technology, operations, and compliance.What you'll bring to the team Minimum of 15 years of experience in credit risk management within the consumer lending/financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Proven success in leading and managing credit risk strategies in an ASX-listed or similarly regulated environment.Strong understanding of credit risk modelling, portfolio management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., APRA, ASIC).Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, including data scientists, analysts, and other risk professionals.Advanced skills in data analysis, predictive modelling, and risk measurement tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau or similar technologies).Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing executive teams and boards.An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.What you'll get in return 25 days paid leave annually, including birthday leave and quarterly wellbeing days.16 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers, and 4 weeks for supporting carers.Family support policies including miscarriage bereavement leave and domestic violence leave.Mental health and wellness initiatives, including a $299 annual wellbeing allowance, free access for you and family members to our EAP service Sonder, discounted private health insurance, and great rates on fitness sessions through ClassPass.2 days paid volunteering leave per year.Fee-free Zip products and discounts with Zip merchant partners (AU).Team social events, epic offices, free breakfast daily, and weekly free lunches (Sydney and Melbourne).Be a part of a team that reflects the diversity of our customers We pride ourselves on being a workplace that provides equal opportunities to people of all ages, cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, abilities, veteran status, and everything else that makes you unique.
