Director, Compliance | Full-Time Temporary

Details: Expressions of interest (EOI) are sought for the position of Director, Compliance, Revenue Management (ACT Revenue Office), Economic, Revenue and Insurance Group for a period commencing immediately for up to 6 months.
The ACT Revenue Office is responsible for providing advice on revenue and taxation administration; management of the Territory's taxation base including the development of revenue and taxation legislation; compliance activities; debt management; administering the Territory's rates and land tax including valuations, remissions and rebates; and administering concessions, grants and rental bonds in the ACT.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Compliance the position of Director, Compliance is responsible for leading and managing teams of skilled project management and investigation officers responsible for audits and investigations of potential instances of non-compliance with ACT taxation laws, the recovery of unpaid liabilities owing to the Commissioner for ACT Revenue and improving non-compliance detection mechanisms working with our business intelligence capability.
The position suits an analytical and inspiring leader to drive change and team development, oversee process improvement, and deliver quality service outcomes in a regulatory/tax environment. The ideal applicant will have a good understanding of and demonstrated ability to apply ACT tax laws, as well as high quality written and oral communication skills. As Director, you will establish and maintain professional working relationships across the Office and external stakeholders and manage complex, high value and/or escalated revenue matters.
