Director Community Services Northern NSW district – hybrid and flexible arrangements available Ongoing role $231,159 - $255,262 total remuneration payable Your role An exciting opportunity to lead DCJ's child protection functions (including statutory child protection, out of home care and early intervention), ensuring the provision of quality and timely support services for vulnerable children and young people and their families. What you'll do You will be responsible for leading and managing the district's statutory child protection functions. You will also: Drive a suite of change management, risk management and operational performance activities to ensure the district remains responsive to the changing needs of vulnerable children and young people and their families Build productive working relationships with government and non-government organisations and communities to facilitate seamless service delivery across the district Deliver high level strategic advice to executive teams, including by forecasting and planning local demand for services, benchmarking and reporting on performance, and coordinating risk mitigation measures across the district Direct and manage the district's child protection operations, including statutory child protection, out of home care and early intervention Manage team management, work planning, coaching and professional development activities for your team Lead a dynamic team to deliver tailored services that make a real difference to the lives of children, young people, and families Oversee the portfolio's risk management, governance and accountability functions to ensure service delivery in line with department policies, frameworks, and guidelines What we're looking for Passion and interest in promoting better outcomes for children, young people, and families at a local community level Proven history of achieving service delivery outcomes and savings targets in a dynamic service delivery environment The ability to take a creative and responsive approach to service delivery Strong judgement and decision making skills, with the ability to make sound judgement calls about individual cases in a highly sensitive service area.
