Are you a strategic leader with a passion for community and economic growth? The City of Hobart is seeking a Director of Community and Economic Development to drive innovative strategies that elevate Hobart's standing as a vibrant, inclusive and globally connected city.
Be a Catalyst for Positive Change
As Director, you'll join the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO. This pivotal role leads Hobart's Community and Economic Development Network, where you'll shape initiatives across diverse areas, including economic health, community programs, cultural engagement and the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre (DKHAC).
About the Role
You will play a key role in Hobart's transformation, leading strategic projects that foster economic resilience, enhance community well-being and position Hobart as a "Creative City." Your expertise in economic strategy, community engagement and program leadership will guide Hobart's approach to sustainable development and city resilience.
What You'll Achieve Strategic Economic and Community Development: Define and execute Hobart's community and economic plans, driving innovation and growth.
Build Community Connections: Engage with diverse stakeholders to create a connected, resilient and welcoming city.
Oversee Key Cultural and Social Programs: Direct impactful initiatives across community services, environmental health and cultural development.
