The Director Clinical Operations is responsible for delivering frontline operational ambulance services within the operational area controlled by the respective Operations Centre, ensuring the delivery of high quality, timely and patient focussed ambulance services to the Queensland community.

The position is responsible for total oversight of operations to support, maintain, and strengthen the QAS response to business-as-usual operations, periods of escalation, major incidents, disasters, and scheduled events.

The Director Clinical Operations will lead and guide all aspects of ambulance operations and clinical performance, ensuring the organisational strategic direction is delivered, maintaining operational and tactical oversight of ambulance operations. The Director Clinical Operations will provide critical systems leadership to frontline operational supervisors.
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes: Demonstrated high level leadership and management expertise in managing the complex and diverse coordination of pre-hospital care service delivery model including management of emergency/disaster and/or significant major event environments.Demonstrated superior leadership skills with proven success in leading and inspiring a large, diverse, professional team in a complex operational environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources.Demonstrated proven success in leading and implementing organisational change and service system reform to ensure the service delivery systems are increasingly responsive to the needs of patients and stakeholders.Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation, consultation, and collaboration skills with the proven ability to advocate persuasively to achieve desired outcomes and build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Superior critical thinking, conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to interpret financial and trend/output/outcome performance data to drive performance improvement.Proven capabilities and experience in strategically and creatively designing and developing innovative and effective service improvement initiatives.Positions available at multiple Operations Centres: Brisbane Operations CentreCairns Operations CentreRockhampton Operations CentreMaroochydore Operations CentreToowoomba Operations CentreSouthport Operations CentreApplications to remain current for 12 months.
