About the Role As a Director in the Climate Strategy, Innovation & Ventures team, you will lead large-scale consulting projects, primarily for clients in energy & resources, particularly mining.
You will be responsible for: Client Pursuits & Business Development: Lead the identification of client needs, shape project proposals, and drive business development through to successful sales Project Leadership & Delivery: Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple, concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations and deadlines Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor diverse teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth across both virtual and in-person settings Innovation Strategy Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of innovation strategy, including open innovation programs (e.g., accelerators, incubators), governance (e.g., portfolio management, performance measurement), and capability development Executive Client Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with senior stakeholders, guiding them through complex strategic decisions and ensuring alignment with their business objectives You will also: Collaborate with Deloitte's specialists in design thinking, digital, data analytics, and other global networks to deliver innovative solutions Work in a dynamic and diverse environment, contributing to projects that will shape the future of the energy transition and sustainability landscape About Your Experience To excel in this role, you will need: Consulting Experience: Significant experience in a Tier 1 consulting firm, boutique strategy house, or a senior internal advisory role, with a proven track record as a trusted business advisor to senior client leaders Industry Expertise: Strong background in the mining, energy, or resources sector, ideally with exposure to strategy, innovation, or technical/engineering roles Leadership & Project Management: Demonstrated experience leading large, complex projects and managing cross-functional teams across multiple states/geographies Client Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain senior relationships with top-tier clients, offering strategic advice and driving impactful outcomes Problem Solving: Expertise in using a hypothesis-driven approach to diagnose and solve complex business challenges Business Development: Success in leading client pursuits, developing winning proposals, and growing a network of relationships in the market Team Development: A passion for growing and developing junior team members, creating a culture of mentorship and continuous learning
