Director, Child Safe Organisation

Details of the offer

About the Queensland Family and Child Commission
The Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) is dedicated to ensuring every Queensland child is loved, respected, and has their rights upheld.
The QFCC plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and families across Queensland, through influencing policy, supporting community engagement and working collaboratively with key stakeholders to promote child safety standards.
With a focus on building strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the QFCC strives to foster a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities it serves.
Following new child safety legislation, the QFCC is implementing its Child Safe Organisation (CSO) system, encompassing a mandatory child-safe standards scheme and a reportable conduct scheme.
About the Role and You
This newly created role puts you at the helm of designing and leading the Child Safe Organisation scheme, ensuring a smooth transition as the QFCC expands its operations.
Leading a team of nine professionals, you will be responsible for establishing the CSO regulatory framework, managing the development of policies, procedures and strategies that promote education and capacity building.
As Director, Child Safe Organisation, you will collaborate closely with regulators and stakeholders to ensure its effective rollout.
Key to your success will be your ability to make insightful decisions in challenging situations, setting a culture of accountability and fostering partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.
You will have proven expertise in policy design, strategic leadership and change management, as well as a commitment to continuous learning and cultural capability – particularly in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of child protection in Queensland, at a critical juncture for the QFCC.
If you are a passionate leader with a desire to contribute to meaningful change, we would love to hear from you.
