Management (Information & Communication Technology)Full time$136,307 - $161,381 + 15.4% superannuationAbout the Aged Care Quality and Safety CommissionThe Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019.
The role of the Commission is to protect and enhance the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of people receiving aged care.The Commission is the national end-to-end regulator of aged care services and the primary point of contact for consumers and providers in relation to quality and safety.
Our vision is to support a world-class aged care system driven by empowered consumers who enjoy the best possible quality of life.We aim to build confidence and trust in aged care, empower consumers, promote best practice service provision, promote quality standards and hold providers to account for their performance against the expected standards of care.
We seek to promote an aged care system that develops safer systems of care, inculcates a culture of safety and quality, and learns from mistakes, while providing the oversight that can assure the community that aged care services are operating as they should, including working on continuous improvement.The purpose of the Business Systems Section within the Digital Group is to design, develop, and maintain technology solutions that streamline and support the Commission's core business processes, operations, and objectives, by partnering closely with stakeholders to deliver systems that enhance decision-making, collaboration, and customer service.The Director Business Systems will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of digital applications, designing and developing software, ensuring high-quality delivery, conducting testing and quality assurance, providing training to staff, and maintaining and optimising digital applications.
They will manage and direct their teams to design, develop, and sustain of technology solutions that support the Commissions core business processes and objectives.Position DutiesStrategic Partnerships : Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the Commission, including senior leadership, business units, and ICT teams, to understand business requirements, identify technology needs, and align system development initiatives with the Commission's objectives.Systems Design and Development : Lead the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions that streamline and support the Commissions core business processes, operations, and objectives.
Leverage best practices, cutting-edge technologies, and user-centric design principles to deliver systems that enhance decision-making, collaboration, and customer service.Stakeholder Engagement : Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment between system requirements and business needs.
Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for technology solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation.Project Management : Provide leadership and oversight for system development projects, including planning, resource allocation, budget management, and risk mitigation.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.Continuous Improvement : Implement mechanisms for ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement of technology solutions to ensure they remain aligned with evolving business needs and industry best practices.
Lead initiatives to identify and address gaps, optimise processes, and improve the overall effectiveness of business systems.Team Leadership and Development : Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to the Business Systems' Section, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
Develop talent, build capabilities, and empower staff to achieve their full potential and contribute to the success of the Digital Group and the Commission.Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria):To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in systems design, development, and project management within large, complex organisations, preferably in the public sector.Proven track record of successfully leading system development initiatives that streamline business processes, enhance decision-making, and improve customer service.Strong understanding of technology solutions, software development methodologies, and best practices in systems design and development.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Relevant qualifications in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field.Position Notes:Salary offered will be between $136,307 - $161,381 per annum depending on skills and experience.
In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid and

flexible work arrangements
