Director Authorisations and Verifications Exciting opportunity for a visionary leader with a background in high-risk regulatory environments, strong stakeholder skills, and a focus on service improvement.Ongoing role based in central office locations, Sydney, Parramatta and Gosford; an in-office presence required.Total remuneration package from $239,483 to $263,586 commensurate with experience. About the Role

SafeWork NSW is seeking a Director of Authorisations and Verifications to lead critical compliance, licensing and verification functions. This role manages high-volume, high-stakes regulatory activities across all industries, and high-risk sectors, including dangerous goods, explosives, and major hazard facilities.

You will drive impactful, risk-based compliance initiatives and ensure licensing and verification processes are aligned with government priorities. Working closely with a diverse team of inspectors and technical experts, you will promote public safety through the registration, auditing, and quality assurance of training organisations and high-risk licenses.

You'll have the opportunity to influence significant regulatory reform, shape public safety programs, and oversee the implementation of digital solutions that drive service efficiency and compliance.

Role Responsibilities Regulatory Leadership: Direct a coordinated and risk-based approach to licensing, auditing, and compliance functions across multiple regulatory areas, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Compliance and Harm Prevention Programs: Develop and oversee compliance programs covering inspections, audits, and harm prevention to improve workplace health and safety in NSW.

High-Volume Operational Management: Ensure efficient and effective service delivery across multiple teams, handling high complexity and pressure, with a focus on meeting customer needs.

Risk and Performance Optimisation: Use advanced risk management expertise to identify key issues, report trends, and implement strategies to close performance gaps and improve outcomes.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Manage data systems and performance monitoring processes to continuously improve programs, analyse service delivery data, and implement streamlined business processes.
